  • 4 cube steaks (about 1/3 lb each)
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons TABASCO® Sauce
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the breading mixture by whisking flour, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, baking soda, and baking powder in a shallow bowl.
  2. In another bowl, mix buttermilk, TABASCO® Sauce, and eggs until well combined.
  3. Pat the cube steaks dry with paper towels, season with salt and pepper, then dredge them first in the flour mixture, then the buttermilk mixture, and finally coat again in the flour.
  4. Let the breaded steaks rest for 10 minutes while preheating your oven to keep them warm later.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Fry two steaks at a time for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Drain cooked steaks on paper towels and keep warm in the oven while finishing the remaining steaks.
