  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  3. Add applesauce and vanilla extract to wet mixture.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  6. Slowly mix in canola oil followed by boiling water until smooth.
  7. Pour batter into the baking pan and bake for about 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
