  • 1 cup onion (chopped)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ lb ground pork
  • 28 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 16 oz full-fat ricotta cheese
  • 9 uncooked lasagna noodles
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions and garlic until soft.
  2. Add ground beef and pork; cook until browned. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and spices. Simmer for 30 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, mix ricotta with egg, basil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat until ingredients are gone.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 60 minutes; remove foil and bake another 30 minutes until bubbly.
