Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sourdough discard
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup)
  • 6 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Filling: 3 tablespoons melted butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the filling. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add honey, melted butter, water, and sourdough discard to the dry ingredients; stir until combined.
  5. Knead the dough for about five minutes until soft.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the cinnamon filling evenly over it.
  7. Roll the dough tightly from one long side and cut into twelve equal pieces.
  8. Place rolls in a greased baking dish or skillet and bake for 25–35 minutes until golden brown.
