- 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
- pinch of salt
- 1 large vidalia onion (diced)
- 4 ounces sliced white mushrooms
- 1 teaspoon fresh chopped thyme leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 1/2 tablespoons flour or cornstarch
- 3 cups beef stock
- 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon butter
- kosher salt and pepper (to taste)
- Chopped fresh parsley or chives
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, panko bread crumbs, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, onion powder, pepper, and salt. Form into four oval patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown the patties for about 3 minutes on each side and transfer to a platter.
- In the same skillet, sauté diced onions until translucent; add mushrooms and cook until softened.
- Stir in thyme, garlic powder, and flour for one minute before gradually adding beef stock and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil.
- Return patties to the skillet and simmer until cooked through (5–7 minutes).
- Garnish with fresh parsley or chives and serve warm.
