  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 2 cups canned pumpkin
  • ⅔ cup brown sugar
  • ⅔ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup applesauce or canola oil
  • 3 eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9×5 loaf pans.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and pumpkin pie spice.
  3. In another bowl, mix canned pumpkin, brown sugar, granulated sugar, applesauce (or oil), eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  4. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined; do not overmix.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and divide batter between the prepared pans.
  6. Bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
