  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 & 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup patriotic sprinkles
  • For the frosting:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 & 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • pinch of sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 & 1/2 tablespoons whole milk
  • Patriotic sprinkles for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and prepare a 9×13 baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and sea salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream softened butter and sugar in a stand mixer until fluffy. Blend in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla.
  4. Gradually mix in the flour mixture until combined, then fold in patriotic sprinkles.
  5. Press the dough into the pan and bake for 25–28 minutes until golden brown. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. For frosting, whip softened butter until smooth, then gradually incorporate powdered sugar, salt, vanilla, and milk until fluffy.
  7. Frost cooled cookie bars generously and add more sprinkles before slicing into squares.
