  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 10 oz. mushrooms (button or baby bella)
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ cups beef broth
  • ½ cup dry white wine
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Clean and slice the mushrooms. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Cook the seasoned chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown, then set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and add mushrooms; cook until browned. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms; stir well. Gradually add beef broth while whisking to avoid lumps.
  5. Add bouillon, soy sauce, onion powder, mustard powder, thyme, and white wine; mix thoroughly.
  6. Bring to a simmer, then stir in cornstarch mixed with water and heavy cream until thickened.
  7. Return chicken to skillet; spoon sauce over it and simmer for about 5 minutes before serving.
