- 4 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 box (15.25 ounces) chocolate or devil’s food cake mix
- 1/2 cup canola or vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 3 large eggs (for pudding topping)
- 1 box (5 ounces) instant chocolate pudding
- 3 cups cold milk
- 1 container (8 ounces) thawed whipped topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13 baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, sugar, vanilla, and room temperature eggs until smooth.
- In another bowl, blend chocolate cake mix with canola oil and water until just combined.
- Pour half of the ricotta mixture into the baking dish; layer half of the chocolate batter on top. Repeat with remaining mixtures.
- Bake for about 70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- For pudding topping: whisk together eggs and chocolate pudding mix; gradually add cold milk until thickened.
- Once cooled, spread pudding over the top layer and finish with whipped topping.
