  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 23 tablespoons hot sauce (adjustable)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Season the shrimp by mixing garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in one bowl. In another bowl, pour buttermilk. In a third bowl, place flour.
  2. Coat each shrimp in flour, dip in buttermilk, then roll in panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat until hot.
  4. Fry shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. For the glaze, melt butter in a saucepan over low heat and mix in honey, hot sauce, red pepper flakes (if using), and apple cider vinegar until combined.
  6. Serve fried shrimp drizzled with hot honey glaze.
