Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 8 oz linguine or fettuccine noodles
  • 4 tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 4 green onions (sliced) for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned (about 5 minutes). Add grated ginger and minced garlic during the last 2 minutes.
  2. While the beef cooks, boil water in a pot. Cook noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Drain excess fat from the skillet. Stir in brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
  4. Mix cornstarch with water in a small bowl to create a slurry. Add to the skillet mixture and simmer until thickened (about 2-3 minutes).
  5. Toss cooked noodles into the skillet with the beef mixture, allowing them to absorb the sauce for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions.
