  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 medium onion (chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Microwave the cream cheese until softened; cut into smaller pieces.
  2. Slice the chicken breasts in half lengthwise and season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat; cook chicken for about 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (165°F). Remove from skillet.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté onions for 5-7 minutes until softened; add minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  5. Stir in chicken broth, cream cheese, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes; mix until smooth.
  6. Return chicken to skillet to warm through; adjust sauce consistency with more broth if needed. Season to taste before serving.
