- 14 whole graham cracker sheets
- 2 cups creamy peanut butter
- 8 tablespoons softened butter
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 3½ cups powdered sugar
- 4 tablespoons shortening
- 4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Spray an 8½ x 11 glass baking dish with non-stick spray.
- Crush two sheets of graham crackers in a zip bag; set aside.
- In a bowl, mix peanut butter, softened butter, vanilla, and salt. Gradually add powdered sugar until combined.
- Melt chocolate chips with shortening in a microwave-safe bowl in increments of 30 seconds until smooth.
- Layer six whole graham crackers in the dish, pour 1/3 of melted chocolate over them.
- Spread the peanut butter mixture evenly on top without breaking the crackers.
- Repeat layering with another 1/3 chocolate and six more graham crackers before topping with remaining chocolate.
- Sprinkle crushed graham cracker crumbs on top and chill for at least one hour before cutting into squares.
