  • 14 whole graham cracker sheets
  • 2 cups creamy peanut butter
  • 8 tablespoons softened butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3½ cups powdered sugar
  • 4 tablespoons shortening
  • 4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Spray an 8½ x 11 glass baking dish with non-stick spray.
  2. Crush two sheets of graham crackers in a zip bag; set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix peanut butter, softened butter, vanilla, and salt. Gradually add powdered sugar until combined.
  4. Melt chocolate chips with shortening in a microwave-safe bowl in increments of 30 seconds until smooth.
  5. Layer six whole graham crackers in the dish, pour 1/3 of melted chocolate over them.
  6. Spread the peanut butter mixture evenly on top without breaking the crackers.
  7. Repeat layering with another 1/3 chocolate and six more graham crackers before topping with remaining chocolate.
  8. Sprinkle crushed graham cracker crumbs on top and chill for at least one hour before cutting into squares.
