Ingredients
- 1 lb dry navy beans (soaked overnight)
- 12 oz applewood smoked bacon (chopped)
- 1 sweet onion (chopped)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 cups chicken stock
- 1 cup bourbon
- 3/4 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp molasses
- 3 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Soak navy beans overnight in water. Drain and rinse.
- In a skillet, brown the chopped bacon until crisp; drain excess fat.
- Sauté onions in bacon grease until caramelized, then add minced garlic.
- In a large pot, combine soaked beans, chicken stock, bourbon, BBQ sauce, ketchup, molasses, maple syrup, and brown sugar; bring to a boil.
- Transfer mixture to the crockpot along with bacon and sautéed onions/garlic.
