- ½ cup Marsala wine
- 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 4 cups low sodium chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- In a large pot over medium-high heat, melt butter with oil. Sauté diced onions for 2-3 minutes until softened; add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Stir in sliced mushrooms and thyme; cook until mushrooms soften (about 5 minutes). Add Marsala wine and simmer for an additional 3 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture, stirring well; cook for 2 minutes before adding chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and season with salt, pepper, and crumbled bouillon cubes.
- Cover and simmer for 10–15 minutes until thickened.
- Reduce heat to low; gently stir in heavy cream. Adjust seasonings if needed.
