  • 1 lb smoked sausage, thinly sliced
  • 2 lbs potatoes, diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the smoked sausage slices. Once cooked, set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté diced onion and minced garlic until translucent (about 3–4 minutes).
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine diced potatoes, cooked sausage, sautéed onion and garlic, cheddar cheese, ranch dressing mix, milk, melted butter, salt, and pepper.
  5. Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish; spread evenly.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 60 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until golden brown and tender.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
