Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh salmon
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter (divided)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Remove the salmon from the fridge and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Cut into four equal pieces and pat dry. Season each piece with salt and pepper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic powder, grated ginger, Worcestershire sauce, chicken broth (or water), and cornstarch until smooth.
  3. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Place salmon skin-side down in the skillet; cook for about 5 minutes until golden brown. Flip each piece and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add remaining butter to the skillet and pour the prepared glaze around the salmon. Let it bubble for 20–30 seconds before removing from heat.
  6. Serve immediately, spooning extra sauce over the salmon.
