  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 3/4 cup corn starch
  • Peanut oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 Tbsp Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 3 tsp Sriracha hot sauce
  • Small corn tortillas
  • Cabbage, tomato, and cilantro for topping

Instructions

  1. Marinate shrimp in buttermilk mixed with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder for 15 minutes.
  2. Coat marinated shrimp in corn starch evenly.
  3. Heat peanut oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry coated shrimp in batches until golden brown (about 2–3 minutes per side). Drain on paper towels.
  4. Whisk together mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, and Sriracha for the sauce.
  5. Warm tortillas, then assemble tacos by adding fried shrimp, cabbage, diced tomatoes, cilantro, and drizzle with sauce.
