- 1 1/2 cups Domino® Golden Sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 2 cups unsalted butter, room temperature
- 8 cups Domino® Powdered Sugar
- 2 tsp almond extract
- 3–5 tbsp heavy whipping cream
- Salt, to taste
- Red and blue gel icing color
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two cupcake tins with paper liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream together butter, vegetable oil, and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one by one and mix in vanilla extract.
- Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients while alternating with milk.
- Fill liners two-thirds full and bake for about 18 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely on wire racks before frosting.
- Prepare frosting by beating butter, powdered sugar, almond extract, and cream until fluffy. Color frosting red and blue.
- Pipe frosting onto cupcakes in a flag pattern.
